Social Skills Saturday
Building connections, one club at a time
Welcome to Social Skills Saturdays at The Behavior Blueprint!
Our year-round, in-clinic program is offered to students of all ages, broken into age groups: Group A: 3–7, Group B: 8–12, and Group C: 13+. This program helps children build social, emotional, and practical life skills in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.
What is Saturday Social Clubs?
Social Saturdays is a skill-based program designed to help children build meaningful connections and develop vital skills in a structured, engaging setting. Participants rotate through eight 30-minute classes each Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, learning new skills and practicing them in real-time.
All activities are targeted skill-building exercises. Children are taught new skills, supported by RBTs in 1:1 practice, and data is collected to monitor progress and guide instruction. Activities include role-playing, structured games, problem-solving, cooking, crafts, STEM, mindfulness, life skills, and interactive play — all designed to support social, emotional, and practical skill development.
Children who struggle with making and maintaining friendships, impulse control, or emotional regulation can greatly benefit from these structured skill-building sessions.
Weekly classes include:
Social Circle & Friendship Building
A structured social class where children practice greeting peers, sharing, initiating conversations, and participating in group routines. Activities help build early friendships, strengthen joint attention, and foster positive peer interactions.
9:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Music & Movement & Active Play
A fun and energetic class that supports gross motor development, coordination, rhythm, and body awareness. Children engage in dancing, obstacle courses, movement games, and musical activities to build physical confidence and self-expression.
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Social–Emotional Learning & Self-Advocacy
Children learn to identify emotions, understand body cues, practice coping strategies, solve simple social problems, and advocate for their needs. Lessons include role-play, visuals, stories, and hands-on activities designed for each age group.
10:40 AM – 11:10 AM
Cooking & Food Exploration
A sensory-rich cooking class that encourages children to explore foods through sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste. Students follow simple recipes, sequence steps, answer “wh” questions about what they made, and build independence in the kitchen. Also supports picky eaters through gentle exposure to new foods.
11:10 AM – 11:40 AM
Creative Arts & STEM Exploration
A hands-on class combining art and early STEM activities. Children build, design, experiment, and create using a variety of materials. Supports fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving, and following multi-step directions.
12:10 PM – 12:40 PM
Mindfulness
A calming class that teaches children how to slow down, notice their feelings, focus their attention, and make thoughtful choices. Activities include mindful breathing, yoga poses, guided stories, and sensory calming tools.
12:40 PM – 1:10 PM
Life Skills & Independence
A functional skills class where children learn age-appropriate daily routines such as cleaning up, sorting laundry, setting the table, organizing materials, packing a backpack, and understanding basic safety. Builds confidence and independence.
1:20 PM – 1:50 PM
Learning to Play
A structured play class that teaches turn-taking, waiting, rule-following, cooperative play, imaginative play, and group games. Students practice playing independently, with a partner, and in small groups.
